The soil microclimate conditions of the Aosta Valley, and especially of our area, profoundly influence the varietal expression. Muller Thurgau, Pinot Noir (fermented both with and without skins to produce red and white wine) and Gamay, when grown on slopes at significant altitudes and on soils of moraine origin, are characterised by a wider and more exclusive array of descriptors than usual.
